Policy Brief on Humanizing the Future of Work
May 6, 2021
On 6 May and 16 June 2021, The Future Society organised two workshops on the Future of Work in the EU with senior decision-makers at the national, european and international levels, academics, trade unions and industry. These events were organized with the support of Microsoft. The first workshop focused on the quality of worker’s life while the second one focused on the macroeconomic aspects of reskilling.
Our latest policy brief summarizes the main takeaways from these conversations and the research we carried out on the topic. Based on our analysis of the current debate, we have 4 recommendations:
- Steer innovation towards accountable AI systems to achieve Excellence in Trust;
- Put codesign at the center of the adoption of AI at work through social dialogue;
- Prepare the labour market for the AI-enabled digital transition with new ways of thinking;
- Make SMEs part of the solution by supporting them to provide high-quality jobs.
We are grateful for the input from all the participants to these workshops. You can download the policy brief here.
