Digital Economy Expert
Philip is lead Digital Economy Expert with The Future Society’s project supporting GIZ and the Government of Rwanda in developing Rwanda’s National AI Policy. Philip also serves as a Strategy Consultant for the Government of Rwanda developing Rwanda’s strategy to become a Technology and Innovation Pan-African Hub under the flagship project of Kigali Innovation City. He has been instrumental in the design and formation of Rwanda’s Venture Capital Fund to invest in seed and early stage growth companies.
Previously, Philip has been a Senior Finance and Technology specialist with over 15 years working experience in Investment Banking in the U.K. For example, at Citi Bank, Philip managed the development team of a global equity trading platform. As a serial entrepreneur and investor, with 10 years’ experience, Philip is a founding partner of New Food Company Holdings (NFC), a UK based private investment firm focused on identifying scalable opportunities within the FMCG sector in East Africa.
Philip holds an MSc Computer Science from University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and a BSc Computer Science and Mathematics from Makerere University, Uganda.
