Muriuki Mureithi is an ICT4D Consultant with a singular passion to promote policies, strategies, and regulatory frameworks for e-transformation by positioning ICTs as a tool for human fulfillment in Africa. He uses evidence-based consultancy to help integrate ICTs to seize life’s opportunities as a tool for empowerment. His passion is built from over a 30-year experience focusing on policy, regulation, and strategy evolution of internet ecosystem in Africa. Additionally, Muriuki has an extensive international exposure in ICT4D, having worked across 26 African countries in consultancy and research assignments in the process of acquiring unique insights on internet ecosystem evolution. The natural evolution to the cyberspace domain heralds an exciting frontier paved by AI.
After building regional and national broadband strategies in Africa, AI is an exciting frontier for Africa and Muriuki is in its midst. Muriuki’s new passion is to help build regional and national AI strategies as Africa pursues a vantage position in 4IR. Currently, Muriuki is an Expert & Working Group Co-chair on Guiding Principles for Artificial Intelligence in Cities for an ITU-coordinated United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC) His academic credentials include an MBA in Strategic Management, a post Graduate Certificate in Telecommunications Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, and additional courses on ICT and management. He holds an Artificial Intelligence Analyst certification by IBM Digital Nations Africa.
