Lan Xue is a Cheung Kong Chair Professor and Dean of School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University. With a Ph.D in public policy from Carnegie Mellon University, he taught at the George Washington University before returning back to China in 1996. His teaching and research interests include public policy analysis, STI policy, crisis management, and global governance. He has published widely in these areas, including, Risk Governance on Climate Change, which was published in 2014 by Science Press of China, and Globalization of Science and Technology and its Influence on China’s Development, which was published in 2015 by Tsinghua University Press.He also serves as an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow of Brookings Institution. His many public service appointments include a member of the National Committee for Strategic Consultation and Comprehensive Review, a member of the Expert Committee on Emergency Management of the State Council of China, a member of the advisory board of China’s Health System Reform, the Convener of the State Council Academic Assessment Committee for Public Administration, Vice President of China Association of Public Administration, a member of United Nations University Council, and. Since 2012, he has been the Co-Chair of the Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN). He is a recipient of the Fudan Distinguished Contribution Award for Management Science.
