Gabriel Rinaldi

Gabriel Rinaldi is a journalist and international affairs graduate student. He worked for leading news outlets such as The Washington Post, SPIEGEL, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Tagesspiegel, and Süddeutsche Zeitung so far. He studied Political Sciences and Sociology at the Humboldt University of Berlin and King’s College London. Currently, he pursues a double degree in International Affairs and Economics at the Hertie School, Berlin, and Bocconi University, Milan, as a Heinrich-Böll-Foundation and Germany Integration Foundation scholar.

Besides his studies, Gabriel is undergoing internships at leading media corporations in Germany. At FAZ, he focused on data-driven journalism and data visualisation as Google News Initiative Fellow 2020. His journalistic and research-oriented background enables him to deliver complex information in a concise manner. Working in The Future Society allows him to build bridges between different groups and foster a global understanding of AI.

Apart from that, he volunteered at various social and non-profit research projects such as the Oxford China International Consultancy (OCIC) to contribute his vast media and communications expertise. There, he researched how Blockchain provides new opportunities for the Hainan region by analysing national and regional strategies in China. Gabriel is interested in International Affairs and Security Studies with an emphasis on the field of cybersecurity. At The Future Society, he aims to use his acquired AI and data science knowledge to foster the understanding for the use of emerging technologies.
