Claudia Avila leads the Monitoring Centre for consumer claims in the National Agency for Consumer Protection in Peru applying natural language processing algorithms and developing social media listening tools as a way to amplify citizens’ voices and civic participation. She is currently a member of the committee of experts for the design of the National Strategy of Artificial Intelligence of  Peru.  Claudia has a master’s degree in Business Intelligence and Data Science at the University of Alcala (Madrid-Spain) and a bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Claudia has previously worked in education as coordinator of studies and information systems at the Ministry of Education (Peru), and as a data scientist in higher education at Siris Academic (Barcelona).
