Badrul is a software engineer specializing in data systems that power analytics applications. He is interested in the impact of raw data as well as data preprocessing on the accuracy and bias of machine learning models. Outside of engineering, he is interested in exploring and shaping technology policy in this space to ensure new innovations have the best possible social outcomes. Badrul holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently pursuing a professional master’s degree in artificial intelligence at the Johns Hopkins University while working to make Apple Maps the best mapping platform on the planet.
