Alex is a public relations professional with a breadth of experience spanning two presidential campaigns, federal politics, technology companies and Fortune 100 corporates. Currently, he works at Edelman Public Relations, where manages brand strategy, executive visibility, and crisis management for companies like HP, Nissan, Mars, and Adobe.
Before joining Edelman, Alex managed public affairs campaigns for Airbnb in San Francisco, New Orleans, Oakland and Berkeley, focusing on municipal regulatory battles–including the company’s landmark litigation against the City of San Francisco. Prior to Airbnb, Alex managed global communications for Opower, a leading AI-powered cleantech startup which was ultimately acquired by Oracle in 2016 for $530 million.
Alex began his career in national politics. He worked on President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign in Ohio, and then moved to Washington, D.C. where he worked for Doug Hattaway’s brand strategy firm, developing messaging for clients including Hillary Clinton, the White House, the DNC, and the Harvard School of Public Health. In June 2015, Alex was selected for a presidential appointment to HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell’s media team, where he worked primarily on the Affordable Care Act, including the King v. Burwell and Halbig v. Burwell Supreme Court cases. In 2016, Alex served as a core member of Hillary Clinton’s Environmental Working Group, providing daily media analyses for over 300 senior campaign staff, democratic insiders, and elected officials.
Alex graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Politics.
