The Future Society also hosted the 2nd international Global Data Commons (GDC) workshop on May 31st. Cyrus Hodes co-hosted the workshop with Robert Kirkpatrick, Director of UN Global Pulse. The Global Data Commons workshop brought together a diverse group of 30 experts and practitioners from international organizations (including ITU Telecom World, UNESCO, OECD, The World Bank, UNEP, United Nations High Level Panel on Digital Cooperation), industry, start-ups, academia (including IRD), and civil society organizations (including IEEE). This second workshop built upon the first one organized as part of the ‘Global Governance of AI Forum’ held during the World Government Summit and the proposed 3-year roadmap and associated framework.
