The Future Society has been an instrumental partner in IEEE-Standard Association’s work on AI governance. Since 2015, their talented team has exhibited a unique understanding of the AI governance landscape, as well as a keen ability to identify, deconstruct, and tackle significant and tractable issues. As an example, their hosting of the year-long ‘Global Civic Debate on Governing the Rise of AI’ to help inform Ethically Aligned Design (EAD) rendered it more inclusive; and in-depth contributions on many topics throughout the EAD campaign have showcased their subject matter expertise, analytical skill, and convening power. TFS brings an innovative and much-needed civil society voice to our field.
