CitX is one of the organizing partners of Cities for Life Paris 2016, the global summit on inclusive, smart and resilient cities, hosted by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo along with Medellin Mayor Federico Gutierrez on November 21-22, 2016. The summit is co-organized with UN Habitat, the OECD, the Ford Foundation, C40, 100 Resilient Cities, the Rockefeller Foundation, the French Development Agency (AFD), the United Cities and Local Governments and FMDV.

Besides helping with the design of the conference and content, CitX’s contribution is two-fold:

  • A global “collective intelligence” consultation on the theme of “inclusive cities” which will inform the political declaration of the Summit;
  • A series of “co-creation” sessions on civic tech, urban data and the sharing economy.

In preparation for this Global Summit and harnessing the opportunity of Habitat III in Quito, CitX was one of the organizing partners of the Cities for Life Prep-Meeting in Quito on Oct. 17-18. The meeting brought together Mayors, experts, practitioners and citizens and focused on The Future of Urban Innovation. It included keynote speeches, panel discussions as well as co-creation session on urban innovation for inclusion.
